Ephrata Police were called to a report of girls damaging ice sculptures in the first block of East Main Street on Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m., according to a release by police.

The ice sculptures were put up as part of the annual celebration for the Ephrata Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 26, according to the release.

The main sculpture damaged at the Ephrata Rail Station Plaza was depicting children visiting Santa Claus, according to police.

Upon arrival, two girls admitted to pushing over one sculpture and throwing ice around the area, according to the release.

Police turned the girls over to their parents and recommended them to the Youth Aid Panel, as stated in the release.

There is no word if the police directly contacted Santa Claus directly but he does know when girls and boys have been bad or good and he recommends they be "good for goodness sake," per the lyrics for Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town written by Haven Gillespie.
